About Headway
I am Marjan Christien Sonke-Marsman
As a freelance qualified cultural and educational developer, consultant and certified autism coach I draw experience from a very broad background in healthcare, education, arts and culture. I work on projects where connection, development, and innovation take center stage… and naturally, I have a neurodiverse brain!
Headway was initiated from my own search for knowledge, insight, and recognition. I was looking for practical and accessible information that truly helps in conversations about neurodiversity. That is why I develop tools and methods that contribute to greater understanding, openness, and awareness.
In my work, I combine creativity, analytical thinking, and practical experience. I facilitate conversations, develop materials, and help people and organizations make differences open for discussion and growth.
In addition to Headway, I am involved in woodworking, theater, music, and cultural projects. I bring that creative background to everything I do. I have five wonderful children and live with my very sweet partner, with whom I travel a lot.
In this photo, I am five years old, and my family had just moved to Malawi. My family still lives there, and we go back and forth as often as we can, because my heart and roots are still in Malawi.
